Anonymous asked: If you could go back and do it all over again, would you?
I ask myself this question quite often.
The immediate answer is, no, not all over.
But what if you did decide to go back, not to correct some past mistakes, but just to live another life? In other words, you’ll have lived however long you have lived now, and now have a chance to live some more. I would treat it that way. Go back and purposefully change everything that I could, not just minor things that will hopefully lead to what I think they will lead to.
The question should be looked at less from the perspective of a time traveler but from the perspective of a dying man. What it’s really asking is “Would you be ok with dying today? Would you gamble your future (which is unknown to you anyway) for an alternate future?”
Life would be unkind to the man who turned this offer down and then died in a car crash the next day.
