What A Woman Should Be:

fuck, is this how all bible-toting boys think? if so, then i fail completely at resembling anything lady-like. i flirt with the boundaries of work-appropriate attire, curse like sailors raised me, wrassle with boys, and have trouble loving anyone consistently.

I was thinking today about my favorite movie, “The Village”, by M. Night Shablahblahblah, and it got me thinking about Bryce Dallas Howard’s character in the film. She is everything I believe a lady should be. She meets all the criteria.

A true lady should:

1) dress properly, never exposing too much skin.

2) be involved with the raising/nurturing of children.

3) always be poised.

4) speak with care, never allowing foul or rude words to slip.

5) be delicate, yet have a touch of bravery, when necessary.

6) love her boyfriend/fiance/husband, and do everything she can to help him, in every way, at all times.

7) be a voice of reason.

8) know when to be quiet.

9) know how to cook/clean/sew.

10) be all of these, and what the Bible outlines as well.

11) be sexually pure, until marriage.

12) pass on the ways of a lady to younger girls, so that they too can grow into respectable women.

The Bible talks about how hard a good woman is to find, and that if a man does find one, he need hold on to her. I agree with that. I find so few true ladies to exist. A true lady is overall a respectable woman. I wish there were more, not for me, but for the sake of society. It is sad to see a society where women don’t uphold the standard of what a woman should be.

This is the most ridiculous thing I’ve read in awhile.  No. 9 is my favorite! Wake up call, dude: if you are seeking a woman who can cook/clean/sew, you are admitting that a.) you’re not an adult male (aka man) that can be self-sufficient, and b.) you’re living in the wrong century. Neither of these are qualities that interesting, attractive modern - I use this term only because it seems lost on this guy - women seek in their male counterparts.

Do women need to know how to sew?  I sure as hell don’t want a girlfriend outfitting me with hand-sewn clothing.  Then again, perhaps on Amish Acres this is the norm. It’s all relative, I guess.

Good gods. You should read his other stuff, too. His whole long rant about how he hates old people. What an asshole. Somebody find this guy and punch him in the balls so he can never have children.

I also think this guy is crazy, but only for the reason that his favorite movie is The Village by M. Night Shyamalan.
